Support Local This Holiday Season
With the extra cold weather that blew through Oregon early this December they were reminded of the fragile relationship between winemaking and Mother Nature. In 2012 and early 2013 they planted 19 acres of grapes, due to the grapes youth and lack of establishment it is likely that their fragile roots didn’t make it due to those extreme temperatures. While this is a set back for the Maragas family they are still looking forward to the Spring where they hope to receive confirmation from another plot of land that they found an excellent area in which to grow vinifera wine grapes… for them “this is the last piece to the puzzle to solidify the Central Oregon area as an excellent wine grape growing area”.

We have…
2012 Good Earth Malbec
Made with Applegate Valley fruit. This is 100% malbec. It stayed on its lees for 9 months and was racked only 1 time before bottling. Unfiltered and unfined, this wine matured well in a short period of time in French and American Oak. It’s jammy and fruit forward with a very nice balance of currant, tobacco and coffee. The finish is particularly nice – as if it was an overstuffed arm chair that you were about to meld into. Ahh . . Alc. 13.8%
Poetic Pinot Gris
A blend of 95% pinot gris and 5% chardonnay sourced from the Columbia Valley. This is a crisp, unoaked fruit forward pleasantly dry white. Very flavorful, fruity, light and crisp. Think of melons, apples, kumquats, pears, and lemon grass with stony, mineral aromas. Alc. 13.0%
Muscat Love
This is a semi sweet wine – with 4.0% residual sugar – made with orange muscat and muscat ottonel grapes. Most of the blend is Columbia Valley orange grapes – the remainder is muscat ottonel from our own vineyard in Central Oregon. Flavors of pineapple, orange, ruby red grapefruit, butterscotch and spice. The finish is smooth and the result is refreshing. Alc. 13.1%.
