Layers of sweet malt, reminiscent of marmalade, are followed by peat-smoked flavors making this versatile beer the best-selling in Pike Brewing’s 25-year history. The Kilt Lifter Scotch Ale goes well with classic American fare, like burgers and BBQ, or enjoy it on its own. Pours a ruby-amber color
HISTORY
At the turn of the 20th century Edinburgh, Scotland was famous for a dozen breweries producing strong and malty ale. To this day a ‘Scotch’ is a style of beer, not a whiskey. Without native hops, Scottish brewers relied on Kent in England for their supply, making Scotch Ale more malty than hoppy.
