Beer of the Week: Silvermoon F*Cancer IPA

Silver Moon Brewing F*Cancer IPA featured as Beer of the Week at Newport Avenue Market in Bend, Oregon

Beer of the Week: Silver Moon Brewing F*Cancer IPA

Some beers are brewed to taste good. Others are brewed to do good. Silver Moon Brewing’s F*Cancer IPA manages to do both.

This limited summer release from Bend’s own Silver Moon Brewing is a hop-forward IPA with a mission much bigger than what’s inside the can. A portion of every sale supports nonprofit organizations working in cancer prevention, education, research and direct support for people with cancer and their families.

That makes F*Cancer IPA an especially meaningful choice for Newport Avenue Market’s next Beer of the Week.

A Beer Born from a Shared Experience

Few lives remain untouched by cancer. It may be our own diagnosis or that of a parent, partner, child, colleague or beloved friend. Silver Moon Brewing created the F*Cancer campaign to acknowledge that shared experience while turning a pint into a tangible way to help.

Silver Moon brewed its first F*Cancer IPA in 2014 and has released the beer exclusively for this annual seasonal campaign ever since. Through beer and merchandise sales, fundraising events and community partnerships, the program has now raised more than $1 million for cancer-related causes.

Proceeds from every six-pack and keg sold during the 2026 campaign will be donated to Silver Moon’s nonprofit partners. Whenever possible, funds raised within a community remain in that community, supporting cancer programs close to the people who helped raise them.

Names That Carry the Story

The 2026 F*Cancer IPA labels feature the names of people who have faced cancer.

Each name represents a real person and a community that has loved, supported, remembered or stood beside them. Together, the cans become more than packaging. They are a tribute to people currently fighting, survivors, caregivers and those whose lives continue to be honored.

It is a powerful reminder that behind cancer statistics are individual people, families and stories.

What Does F*Cancer IPA Taste Like?

F*Cancer IPA is an approachable, hop-forward beer made for summer. It offers bright citrus and tropical fruit character, touches of pine and a clean bitterness that gives IPA drinkers plenty to enjoy without overwhelming the glass.

It is bold enough to stand beside a hearty meal but easygoing enough for a sunny afternoon, a backyard gathering or a toast among friends.

What to Pair with F*Cancer IPA

The citrus, tropical and lightly resinous hop flavors make this IPA a natural companion for foods with richness, spice or smoky flavor. Try it with:

For a simple summer spread, serve it alongside grilled sausages, potato salad and something crunchy from the produce department.

Raise a Glass with Purpose

Silver Moon Brewing is part of our Central Oregon community, and its F*Cancer campaign shows what can happen when craft brewing and a meaningful mission come together.

Pick up this week’s featured beer at Newport Avenue Market or order via Instacart – then, look for the names carried on its label and raise a glass to the fighters, survivors, families, caregivers, researchers and nonprofit organizations working toward a world with less cancer.

Because sometimes a beer can be more than a beer. Sometimes it can carry a name, start a conversation and help move an important mission forward.

Cheers to Silver Moon Brewing, and F*Cancer.
